About 500 people infected with the coronavirus have been reported in a tourist resort in Guangxi, China, in five days.
Foreign media reported that more than 2,000 tourists were stranded in Beihai due to an unusually high number of infected people.
Health authorities in the country have said that a number of cities including Beihai, Nanning, Guilin, Hezhou and Chongzuo have been affected by the spread of the virus.
Asymptomatic patients were reported from Beihai city on July 12th and as of July 16th, 9 patients infected with the virus and 444 patients showing symptoms have been identified locally, according to foreign media.
It further states that apart from the patients reported from Beihai, 30 patients with symptoms have been reported from other cities of the autonomous region.
